Arcadan professions

Almost all people in Arcada have a very hard life. That’s why most of them train hard in the ways of their kin: survival is impossible if you don’t push yourself to your maximum potential.

Primal

Barbarian
  • Original source: Player’s Handbook 2
  • Barbarians lose themselves in the primal spirits to deal great amounts of damage to their foes. They are usually the soldiers of their tribes.
Druid
  • Original source: Player’s Handbook 2
  • Druids have less business with the primal spirits and more with animals. They are able to take the form of an animal. Most druids are scouts and hunters, but they are also very often village elders.
Ranger
  • Original source: Player’s Handbook
  • Rangers, although part of the primal source, do not have any contact with spirits or animals. They have honed themselves with their surroundings, emerged themselves in nature, but there is nothing supernatural about it. They are the scouts and hunters of their tribes.
Shaman
  • Original source: Player’s Handbook 2
  • Most tribes only have one shaman. They have many different names: medicine (wo)man, magician, healer. Shamans contact the primal spirits to help their people.
Warden
  • Original source: Player’s Handbook 2
  • A warden defends his people by becoming one with a specific primal spirit. They, along with the barbarians, defend their villages from monsters and other enemies.

Arcane

Bard
  • Original source: Player’s Handbook 2
  • Bards are very comparable to druids, except that they were born with magical abilities. They have chosen to use their powers to assist their tribe. They express their magic by way of music or other lore of their tribe.
Wild Sorcerer
  • Original source: Player’s Handbook 2
  • These sorcerers were born with their powers. They are very adept at blasting away, but the uncontrolled nature of their magic is frowned upon. How sorcerers get their powers is unknown.
Warlock
  • Original source: Player’s Handbook
  • Warlocks make pacts with either the primal spirits (fey), undead (infernal) or a higher power (star) to wield arcane power they were not born with. They tend to fall to the dark side.
Wizard
  • Original source: Player’s Handbook
  • Wizards are the scolars, who try to explain the how and why of arcane magic. They are often tribe leaders. Their mastery of magic is unmatched.
